Archangels Fans Thank You to the Fans
First and foremost we would like to thank the fans who have supported, shared with others and truly believed in the "Archangels" comic book series over the last 15 years. Your prayers, emails, letters of encouragement and support have been greatly appreciated and have touched, inspired and ministered to everyone who has worked and been a part of this endeavor. You have invested in this dream (that began over 15 years ago) and you have helped us realize a calling from God to make this Christian animated film come true. The vision of Archangels has always been in the hands of God and his perfect timing... and we are so excited to share with you this process, its struggles and the victory that you have helped us achieve. Once again thank you all... here is the good news!!!
New Archangels: The Saga™ Movie Trailer Under Production
In the Summer of 2008 a new trailer for the "ARCHANGELS: THE SAGA™" property was under consideration. After many months of contacting animation studios and endless fund raising efforts the hard work is finally beginning to pay off. A new .30 second to 1:30 trailer is under way... the cost... around $100,000 dollars. That's right... a hundred grand! For 30 seconds??? Crazy one might think! But that is the price one pays for a quality animation, animation that can and must hold it's own as a theatrical release. The budget is estimated at 7 Million dollars. The (80 minute) animated movie is tentatively scheduled to head for the big screen in October 2011. The treatment for the animated film has been completed, the initial script has been written (first 10 pages) and a couple of concept animation styles have been presented. The initial concept images are posted below. Once the trailer is completed we will bring it to you first here on URCOMIC.COM!
Concept Animation Images Archangel Character: Kai
These renderings were submitted by one company to illustrate their style, this has a "Clone Wars" look and feel. There are two other companies that will be submitting new renderings next month. A ten second (360 degree spin) clip of this animation will be available soon. We will have it up in a couple of days.

Quality Product The people behind the "Archangels" animated film are committed to releasing a "HIGH QUALITY" and very "ENTERTAINING" Christian film with an inspirational message. Geared for the male demographic of 12 - 24 the animated drama plans to deal with serious issues facing today's youth; drinking and driving, suicide kidnapping, murder and a strong message of Hope. Author and Creator Patrick Scott told URCOMIC, "This movie will inspire Christians and Non Christian alike, It will be a powerful tale of Spiritual Warfare". All of us at URCOMIC are looking forward to this animated movie.

I'll be honest, URComic (or whatever new wacky name Scott & co. are using these days) is just confusing me. I don't understand what they're trying to sell or even what their business mission statement is. It seems obvious they aren't dabbling in the comics scene anymore. Their 'digital comics' content hasn't been updated for...well, quite a while.
(As a side note, digital comics are still changing & evolving. But URComic hasn't really seemed to keep up with it. Now if they had popped up on iTunes or some other iPod related digital comic application, I'd feel differently.)
It seems that the company's efforts are now completely & focused solely behind this animated film. That's kinda news to me. I would've preferred to see some of the other projects mentioned in the past (The Fruit of the Spirit fantasy story, Lifewave, Garden of Eden/Indiana Jones story, Archangels novel, just to name a few). Now I'm aware that things fall through. Projects don't come to fruition. I understand. Feature film/short film projects aren't always the way to go though. The movie box office isn't selling as good as it used to & animated films don't tend to do as well against their live-action competitors. And the budget needed for animation? Huge. But I guess if they feel passionately enough about it & feel Archangels will do well as an animated film, then by all means, continue.
Of course, it doesn't help that there isn't a way to keep in touch with them anymore. While their updates were EXTREMELY sporadic in the past, at least Cahaba's forum was a way to rely on some kind of communication. URComic's website does advertise some kinda new social networking site Archangels is on, but it's got very little on the site for content. And I'm not gonna jump onto this 'Ning' site. I've never heard of it before. Ever. I kinda wish they had just gone with some kind of other, more popular networking site. Like MySpace, Facebook, or Twitter. Just something that isn't as...sketchy as 'Ning.'
And now, I'm just rambling. I've got a lot of my thoughts about URComic & Archangels down, but still got more to say. I'd love to just get a conversation going about others' thoughts about it all.
